This Week Started by us going to Yellow Rock, a less dangerous, and shorter trail. It was beautiful at the top and we got some pictures of it. Afterwards we had some Haitian cuisine with a couple investigators of ours and we had a lesson with them. Later that evening we visited someone we were referred to and while we were there, two less-active members of the church who hadn't been in years came up to us and asked us if we're LDS. We were able to get two of the three people we talked to, to church for Christmas.
Quite often I find opportunities when people come up to us and ask us about our beliefs, that they too share those beliefs of ours, because these are things that are familiar to them. While we were visiting the referral again, where we found the 2 members, there was a man who came up to us and asked what we things about life-after death, do we go straight to heaven? I told him it doesn't quite work that way, and he said, it says nowhere in the Bible that we go straight to heaven. I told him about the plan of Salvation and everything seemed right to him. We gave three copies of the Book of Mormon to someone that night.
We went to contact a referral from Bishop, and unbeknownst to him and to us, one of them was a member who is the brother of an active member of our ward. This was a pleasant surprise. They too were at church on Christmas along with several others we invited.
Christmas was great overall, and we had a lot of fun. We did a Secret Santa for someone. A family wrapped the gifts and we delivered them. Elder Henderson was the one who took the gifts up to the door, and on his way back, he tripped and the things from his pocket, namely, his Name Tag, white handbook, and planner, fell out. It was pretty funny, but we didn't get caught so that was good. At least I hope they didn't see us.
Hope y'all had a great Christmas!
Loves,
Elder Rodgers
Note from Mom: We loved our Skype and phone visit with Elder Rodgers for Christmas! He looks and sounds great and he gave us messages for Grandma and Granny and spoke to each of us individually. It was so wonderful to see that great big smile and hear him laugh! <3
